This Queensland box tree has been in the Midland Railway car park  for as long as I can remember. Its huge root bulb has been paved over on numerous ocassions so much so the paving has grown up and around with the tree. Two weeks the tree was cut down and the area was paved over…

This tiny West Australian native climber has some very unusual characteristics what can be seen as round flower like objects are infact the plants leaves. These ‘leaves’ have hair like tubes that radiate from the disk they emmit a sticky substance that glistens in sunlight and attracts insects. The insects become stuck to the leaves and are then absorbed by the leaves as nutrition the flowers come later… TBC
