Converted into monochrome within Photoshop CS5, Adobe Camera Raw 6.1 seems to create a new, make that different and finer grain /noise structure which is more noticable in mono than colour. It is seldom that I convert into mono in ACR prefering to ‘develop’ the image in PS in LAB mode. However. it looks like the software has evolved with this most recent version to the point where most work can be almost completed in ACR.
